    Tiftuf Bermuda Grass

    With a fine leaf blade and a dense coverage TifTuf requires minimal fertiliser and watering once established. It’s a popular choice for a variety of environments from front and back yards to sporting fields. TifTuf likes a free draining soil.

    Watering

    Tiftuf has low watering requirements. Reduce watering once established. Water grass only when it appears dry.

    Fertilising

    Tiftuf has different fertilising requirements to other turf varieties. Starter fertiliser is not recommended during the peak growing season (Sept to March). Tiftuf requires less than 1/3 of the amount of fertiliser to maintain healthy growth and appearance. Over fertilising tiftuf can lead to discolouring, excessive growth and mowing.

    First Mow

    Mow as soon as the grass has rooted to promote lateral growth (7 to 10 days after installation during the warmer months). Only take 1/3 of the leaf off at any time and train your lawn to look lush at your preferred mowing height. Mowing heights may vary between 20-35mm.

    Mowing

    Tiftuf requires regular mowing. Mow regularly and cut only 1/3 of the leaf at any one time. Caution must be taken if tiftuf is left for long periods without mowing. Only take 1/3 leaf off with any one mow to avoid scalping.

    Winter Mowing

    Tiftuf growth will start to slow at the beginning of winter. To maintain the lush green leaf during the cooler months we recommend to reduce mowing in April/May and leave the leaf slightly longer. Trim (mow) leaf only when required (semi-regular) during dormancy, be sure to remove excess debris from your lawn surface  during this time. Your tiftuf will be ready for weekly mowing again when spring arrives. Sharpen your mower blades and remember to only cut 1/3 leaf off at any time.

    Turf is harvested in 0.5m² slabs measuring approx 1210mm x 410mm

    Delivery days are Tuesday to Friday. 

    Turf will be delivered on the verge or nature strip.
